Just because its blue doesn’t mean its a bad thing…

Yes, I always look at the latest trends, be it on a local or international scale, but I don’t always adopt the trends. there are some trends that work for me and some that don’t.

Doing my daily dose of blog and fashion reading over the last few weeks/Months… Blue had popped up every where, and I might be behind in blogging about this, but I have never really paid much attention to the “blue” trend, maybe because blue has always been one of my best colours to wear…

I like blue, but never noticed how much blue I actually wear it, until last week I noticed that I wore blue 4 out of the 5 days! Looking back at pictures i have also noticed a lot of blue in my wardrobe.

GQ Magazine say the following about Blue, “Blue is one of this seasons biggest obsessions, erring on the side of the darker tones (particularly shades of indigo, navy and violet) with pops of bright icy or electric blue, purple or lilac in the mix.”

Dont Doubt Double Denim

I have always been obsessed with denim and believe that a few good pairs of denims should be a staple in any wardrobe, they go from season to season and will never go out of style,

The days of double denim being deemed a major fashion no-no (circa Britney and Justin at the 2001 American Music Awards) are gone. It’s one of this season’s biggest trends and the vibe is 1990s cool, And the best thing about this trend – who doesn’t have at least one item of denim in their wardrobe already? It’s the forever fabric.

Darker Jeans and a blue denim jacket is a good place to start when experimenting with double denim. The change in colour from top to bottom means you’ll get a subtle double denim look that most people won’t even realise. Matched with a plain white tee and you’ll pull off the east London hipster. Pop your collar and add a toothpick and bam – you are Gosling in Drive!

This last weekend I did a double dose of double denim. Friday night I went to Union Bar again and I went for a darker denim, the instant you go dark the smarter it is.

Its possibly the easiest trend to pull off, grab a good quality denim, im all for Diesel, Replay or G-star, the reason being is because the denims last for years, pair it with a white shirt, everyone has one and a denim jacket. Dark for smart, lighter for casual.
